Things I liked about this week......
I started CHOKA_MAIL. First piece sent out...
If you want to be a part of this project just let us know by sending a private message or emailing choka4life@gmail.com. Basically, I'm tired of getting boring mail. I remember when I used to be excited about getting mail. Postcards from my aunt, letters from my penpals in Europe. What happened to all of my penpals??? I love social media I really do. But receiving handwritten mail is always more personal and sometimes even magical!
Receiving this from my sister, kind of was inspiration for the mail club idea...
The packaging was colorful and even though I had ordered the necklace, it got my brain churning on this whole making mail more magical thing.
I love this necklace!!
It's soooo me. Tropical and earthy and soft and it doesn't feel like it's choking my neck....
Obligatory selfie so you can see the necklace on. ^
On to the next thang. You see, I love a good game of football, I love playing football, and I love a good Super Bowl party. Just wasn't feelin' it this year though. I mean there wasn't anything in professional football that had me going RA-RA-SHISH-KOOM-BA!!! (that's a legit football cheer right??) So instead of the tradish Super Bowl party we ventured into Atlanta for a local band that was playing at the Masquerade. One of our friends told us about this band awhile ago and they're a pretty fun rock band to listen to. The crowd was super enthusiastic and made for a rockin' night. Apparently, we made a good choice in missing out on Super Bowl. Heard that was a bigger letdown than Fruit Stripe Gum.
POYNTE however did not disappoint. So YOU can check 'em out HERE. And you can look at the pretty lights at the concert below...
What else happened this week? Oh yeah... I somehow became addicted to Caesar Salad.
Here's one of the 7 different Caesar Salad type foods I had this week.....
Thanks to Gossip Girl I also now have an obsession for colorful (and kind of expensive) pastries such as the delectable macaroons below which I got from Hansel and Gretel, a local store that is surprisingly (or not surprisingly because it was in Duluth on Pleasant Hill) Asian...
The Pomegranate and Chocolate ones were DELICIOUS!!! But now I have to learn how to make them myself. Or I have to trade my Starbucks addiction for this new one.
In my brainstorming/find inspiration sessions this week I came across this quote that I once fell in love with and am so glad I reconnected with. I declare it CHOKA's new motto for the year!
Fell in love with these lovelies:
And am ending the week on the largest pizza I have ever seen in my personal experience:
It's from Capaldi's. I love them! So glad to have a good pizza place close by. They do gluten free pizza too, but I don't think it comes in such a large size. Guess how big that pizza is. GUESS. I don't remember but it is so big, the box is like half the size of my body.
Finally, I am ending this week on a delightful night out with my fam to see my cousin (he's the handsome feller below) perform in the Atlanta Ballet's Romeo and Juliet... A little bit of art does the soul good.
So that's it for this week.... Hopefully CHOKA_LIFE won't revolve so much around food next week.... :)
